Woah it sure has been a while…

Wow! I really didn’t realise how long it had been since I last looked at or posted on “Hayleyslilworld”, for those of you who used to regularly visit my little place on the internet I guess you know why it all fizzled out. Yesterday I posted a comment on a very good friends heartfelt blog post and up came “Hayleyslilworld”. Sandra’s post can be found here!

So in being supportive for a friend I then started re-reading a number of my posts. Some of which gave me great pleasure some were a little random or not what I would have posted these days. But we live and learn and this little place is a part of my progression so I won’t be deleting or changing too much at least. In looking through all the stuff that has been sat here I found the quote below, which I personally think was very apt.

So I won’t be making any promises on what I will post and how often but it is nice to have this back. I am still on/off writing book reviews and also started a blog that was originally aimed at volunteering before I changed jobs to work for Cancer Research if you are interested in that it can be found here!

Until next time… 🙂

By leaving behind your old self & taking a leap of faith into the unknown, you find out what you are truly capable of becoming.

An Awesome Feeling…

On Saturday 14th December 2013 I got up early on my day off and headed to Bromley Intu centre to Christmas wrap and raise awareness on Make A Wish Foundation.

It was a lovely morning, the morning crew consisted of me, Amanda, Michael and Claire. Plus the awesome Emma from Make A Wish. It really was good fun getting festive, wrapping presents and raising awareness. Very early on in the morning we met a lovely woman who looked like she’d seen a ghost. Her son had benefited from Make A Wish Foundation and she was eager to give back. Her story was both beautiful and heart-breaking. Emma was awesome with her. Later on, we met others who had benefited from the charity and a lady who had helped grant a wish.

A truly enlightening day that I thoroughly enjoyed. I hope to do more for Make A Wish Foundation next year. Today I found out we raised an awesome £550. I am still hoping some kind friends, family, colleagues and followers will add to my personal page http://www.justgiving.com/Hayley-Thorpe1

Make A Wish Make A Change…..

So on Saturday 14th December 2014 I shall be giving up some of my time to wrap presents in a local shopping centre for Make A Wish Foundation. I decided that I want to raise some extra money for this amazing charity. So I have set up a Just Giving page http://www.justgiving.com/Hayley-Thorpe1
so my friends, family, colleagues and followers can help me support the charity. I would love to wrap all of your presents for you but I just won’t see all of you, seeing as we all live in different places.

I am sorry for my silence again…I have been a busy bee but I hope to check in with you all whenever I can. Thanks again to all the wonderful and supportive friends I have made just on WordPress. It’s been a testing time but I won’t be beaten by negativity and pure cruelness. I really do appreciate whatever you can spare I have set myself a target of £100 without whatever I get on the day and I already have £15.00.

Anyway I shall love you and leave you with a quote that I believe we should all be saying to ourselves.

Start every day with a new hope, leave bad memories behind and have faith for a better tomorrow.

Inspiration Comes When You Least Expect It

I have been wanting to post all day. But I did not know what to say. Today has been one of those days that just drags, I guess because I’m off to the Emerald Isle tomorrow. Although London Transport sure did ruin my evening tonight, what a nightmare. Trains cancelled, buses packed and next to no info.

Anyway, I didn’t know what to say and wanted to try and have some relevance and meaning to my blog entry and then I found this…..

Instead of putting people down all of your life, inspire someone, change someone’s life for the better, make someone smile.

Chateau De Pierrefonds, Compiegne, France

Ever since Emma had first visited Pierrefonds I knew I wanted to embrace the wonder and beauty of this breath-taking castle.

Chateau De Pierrefonds is a castle situated in the commune of Pierrefonds, Compiegne. The castle is best known from the hit TV series Merlin. Although in the Middle Ages it was a defence base for the military.
I had said to Emma on a number of occasions if I ever got to visit The Castle I’d like it to be a nice sunny day. Now we visited Pierrefonds in October and on the day in question when we first set out it was a rather gloomy day. But I am pleased to say my wish was granted on this occasion. It was everything I’d expected it to be. I kind of wish I’d had the chance to visit when Merlin was being filmed but hey I’ve seen it and I thoroughly enjoyed embracing it. I hate telling my bestie that she’s right but just this once I will whole-heartedly admit it. Chateau De Pierrefonds is out of this world amazing.

Well this was one of my trips whilst in France a short train ride away from Paris. It’s funny how much reminded me of watching Merlin. Walking up to the castle there is a greenery that you can imagine is the woods. Sadly no King Arthur a girl can dream eh?

I really don’t post enough pictures I shall try and rectify that.

Anyway, time for bed.

Think About It Thursday….

I am so sorry for the delay in these.. I am a huge fan of Dancing with Fireflies ‘Think About It Thursday’ and I shall get more organised in future.
I think these are all of the questions I am missing. Enjoy and feel free to comment with your answers I’d love to know.

What are you best known for?
Being sensitive and caring….plus I am extremely hard-working and I never give up. Even though sometimes I really want to deep down I know I won’t.

Favorite side-kick? Piglet to Winnie the Pooh a loyal friend ALWAYS.

Food you would hate to be stuck eating if that was all you had for the rest of your life? Rice! It would get extremely boring.

Name something that you wish you had done yesterday but didn’t?
I should have made a dentist appointment yesterday….

What would you like to see Dancing with Fireflies do more of?
I would love Dancing with Fireflies to do a guest post here at Hayleyslilworld. It would be epic!

Something scary?
Failure.

When was the last time you went trick or treating and what did you dress as? Yonks ago and I’m pretty sure I was a ghost so I had a bed sheet over plain black clothes. I remember one lady saying to me and my sister not today. Well it’s Halloween today.

Sweet, Salty, or Sour? Sweet every single time. I have such a sweet tooth.

Hero or Villain? Hero!

Favorite new TV show or book? The Originals!!! I love love this spin off from The Vampire Diaries. My other fave is Nashville.

Favorite bedtime story? I have always been a lover of books as a child I enjoyed Janet and John and Enid Blyton. On Christmas Eve we always used to read The Night Before Christmas I just loved the magic of that. I may well have to find or re-purchase that to read with my niece this year.

Who inspires you? I can be inspired by many things. My Mum is a fighter she always has been and my best friend Emma makes me see the world differently, she always has a positive even when I’m unsure and I love that in her.

How do you react when someone doesn’t like you? This really depends some days I don’t care other days it really gets to me.

If you had to describe yourself in one word, what would it be? Emotional.

Weapon of choice in a zombie apocalypse? Hmmmm!!!! a gun that would kill zombies I guess.

What’s your favorite Holiday treat? Share the recipe. It depends on the holiday. I love Christmas eve mum always does cocktail sausages and sausage rolls it’s been a tradition that I still enjoy now. Usually followed by a beverage or two.

What’s your favorite day of the week? I don’t really have a favourite day as I work in retail I rarely get weekends to myself, but what I do love is the rare Sunday off when I’m around to have a roast dinner straight from the oven rather than a microwave warmed up version.

Everyone Needs A Little Boost.

Hey Guys,

I feel awful for neglecting you all, the sad thing is I keep meaning to post. Although I have been a tad busy in lots of different ways. This week I promise my Think About It Thursday will be finished and published.

In the meantime a good friend posted this quote on Twitter and I believe it’s something we all need to tell ourselves once in a while….

Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.

Just a little inspiration….

Hello I am so sorry it’s been so long. I won’t bore you with reasons. I will document part of my trip to France at some point. I think I need a good 48 hour day lol.

I just wanted to share this quote with you all.

I am trying to embrace positivity again. Had a few testing times but I know I can get back. I would like to also take a moment to thank the truly amazing Matt. Not only is he an awesome blogger but a true friend…check out the Kingdom https://thematticuskingdom.wordpress.com/

It’s Thursday so I should finish and add on today’s Think About It Thursday before the day is out….

I Will Stand With You

Hayley put out the request for some guest posts and I was compelled to answer.

But, what to write about?  What could I possibly say that held the same power and emotion of her recent guest post for me?  She tackled a touchy subject and really had to dig deep to put the post together.  My post for her needed to at least attempt to be as meaningful…

I deleted about 400 words I had written here… which all amounted to a lot of random ramblings of my jestering mind.  And, yes, the only reason I’m telling you that I deleted some content was so I could use the phrase “jestering mind.”  I’m awesomely silly like that.

Anyway, I’ve given up hope of trying to compete with the guest post that Hayley did for me, and so I’m going to subject you all to another poem.  Please, please, keep the grumbling to a minimum.  There are babies sleeping.

…..

I couldn’t believe you had been treated so,
When I tracked you down and asked how’d you been,
I didn’t want to hear that vicious words had made you go,
That you’d hidden away to escape the abuses.
Thoughts, confusion, anger swirled to and fro,
Even knowing the might of words set down in pen,
I didn’t want to accept our fellow bloggers would stoop so low,
That they’d relish in raising welts and deep bruises.

Stand tall, I said, and I will stand with you,
We cannot let them win.
Return and be true,
Together, we will make the bullies take one on the chin.

And return you did, with a fury and a flurry of words,
To share your story, your experience, your tale,
You stood tall and with a clear voice made sure you were heard.
We gathered round and shared when and where could,
To spread the news far and wide, carried on the wings of birds,
That we will no longer sit idly by, no longer let the bullies freely sail,
But will unite as one, and see them for what they are: absurd,
And nothing we need to concern ourselves with, nothing good.

Stand tall, I said, and I will stand with you,
We cannot let them win.
Sharing your story was something you had to do,
Raising awareness within.

Now we are rallied and our voices must continue on,
Seeking out those who need to hear, who need to know,
They are not alone and hope is nowhere near gone,
Speak up, speak out, and help will coming rushing to your side.
In time, the more we speak out, the more voices join our gathered throng,
The caws of the bullies will fade into the background like those of a crow,
And eventually will be drowned out entirely by our voices raised in song,
As we celebrate a better world, a smoother adventure filled ride.

Stand tall, I said, and I will stand with you,
We cannot let them win.
Cast aside those colors blue,
And keep letting your beautiful voice carry above the din.

Welcome back, Hayley.

Think About It Thursday

When I first discovered this writing prompt I was intrigued. I have been trying to do more regular posts and this was like a beacon at the right time. So I should be at least posting Inspirational Monday’s and Think About It Thursday’s each week. (SHE SAYS)

At the time I was busy and therefore couldn’t sit down and answer the questions, so now I am taking the time to answer the questions from last week and this week. I think that means I still have missed a week????? I can always catch up if anyone’s interested LOL!

What does Nature mean to you?
Nature is the beautiful outdoors, the countryside, the wildlife. Taking some time out to sit outside among nature itself is calming.

What do you hate?
There are a number of things I hate spiders- because I don’t like them crawling on me and they look terrifying even if they are tiny creatures. Rudeness- just plain upsets me there is no god damn need for it. Bullying- for those of you who have been reading my blog posts for a while now you’ll understand this. The last thing I will say is I hate seeing people I care about down or upset, it breaks my heart.

What annoys you?
Cheating, lying, bullying and the fact that this world can be cruel at times.

What is your least favorite holiday?
Valentines Day!

Do you Exercise?
Now I am going to be honest. I was in a real good flow before I went to Spain but since my return I have been extremely lazy. Although in my defence my work shifts are all over the place. So I don’t have a steady pattern. I am hoping to correct this once I have returned from France.

If you were to go to prison, what would it be for?
Well I hope I don’t ever have to. But if I were to go to prison it would be to protect someone I love. So a close friend or family member. I would put my life on the line for those I hold dear to me.

What is the name of your imaginary friend?
With my strange imagination I am a little sad to say I have never had an imaginary friend. But I think it would be a he called BOB!

Schrödinger’s Cat.. Dead or Alive? Dead!!! Just because!!!

Where did you meet your best friend?
I met Emma through a boyband who are no longer around. We were waiting in the same place at the same time and got chatting. We had both seen each other at various events but hadn’t really spoken properly until 2002-3 ish Haha!! We are quite in sync. We like lots of the same things, like Irish boybands, our love for theatre and we have the same middle name Louise.

When you wake up, what is the first thing you see?
Honestly! Normally my phone as I am regularly turning OFF my alarm.

If you want to take part check out http://fireflydance.net/2013/09/19/think-about-it-thursdays-2/

Also feel free to leave your answers in my comment box I am intrigued to see what everyone else comes up with.
