Daily Prompt: Musical

I think this is the first time I have ever posted two posts in one day.
This ‘Daily Prompt’ pinged through on my email after I had posted my previous post but I instantly wanted to write my thoughts on this question. So here it is…

What role does music play in your life?

I feel like I have grown up with music. My mum loves music and is currently getting over-excited about David Bowie’s latest album. My late uncle was such an inspiration he was the biggest music fan I have ever known- he also used to repair my Kylie Minogue and Boyzone tapes when I battered the life out of them.

Over the years especially during my teens I have often found solitude from the trials and tribulations of everyday life within music. A good album, song, concert or a musical.

Each and every form of music is my ideal escapism whether I’m listening to music at home on a cd player, on an iPod or seeing a live show or concert.
While I am immersed in music I forget everything that makes me feel negative in anyway, it’s like my mood is instantly lifted into a positive and happy place.

So far this year I have seen one theatre show. My beloved Jersey Boys. I am hoping to get a long and see Shrek the musical soon as it closes the day after my birthday. Especially as I missed out on seeing Loserville. I am eager to see Viva Forever, the reviews haven’t been in favour of the show but I love the music of The Spice Girls. I hope to see the film adaptation of Les Miserables the only show that has emotionally scarred me.

Tonight I am off to the O2 arena to see the man who has been a constant in my life since I was eight years old. Mr Ronan Keating.
I feel like a child again.

Anyway until next time 😀
