Music has played a huge part in my life and sadly these days I feel rather out of touch with the music world.
In a previous blog post I asked for ideas on songs that I should listen to and here is the first track.
Josh Groban- ‘To Where You Are’
I love having my mind opened to new music, new possibilities and new emotions.
Josh Groban is an artist that I know very little about.
I’ve obviously heard of him and I always think of ‘You Raise Me Up’ when he is mentioned.
‘To Where You Are’ is a very powerful and extremely emotional song.
If you’ve ever lost someone close to you, then the lyrics to this song will either have you in tears or very close to tears.
I was deeply moved by the lyrics and I found myself trying to keep hold of my emotions so I wouldn’t burst into tears.
The words are just beautiful and I imagine lots of people have this as a funeral song.
Although this is a sad song, there is some comfort in some of the lyrics for example: “I cherish all you gave me everyday”, “That love will live on and never leave”, “You’re still an inspiration”.
‘To Where You Are’ has made me think about the loved ones I have lost, but it has also made me remember the good times that we shared.
Never take anything or anyone for granted in this world as you never know what the future holds.
I would like to thank my best friend Emma for introducing me to this wonderful tear jerker.
Do take a listen, and let me know your thoughts on ‘To Where You Are’
I aim to feature at least one new song a week.
If you have a song for me feel free to post here or email me at HayleyThorpe10@yahoo.co.uk and I will be sure to add it to my list.
